Ask your state senator to support Better Buildings

Too many of our buildings use energy inefficiently and burn fossil fuels for heating, polluting our air and changing our climate.

This week, the Massachusetts Senate will vote on a bill to address climate change -- but this bill doesn't do nearly enough to reduce pollution from buildings.

That's why we're working with state Sen. Becca Rausch to support the Better Buildings amendments to the climate bill (S.2819, amendments #7 and #8). If the Senate adopts these amendments, Massachusetts' largest buildings -- like offices, apartment buildings, hospitals and university campuses -- will be required to publicly disclose their energy use each year. Even better, these buildings will have to meet minimum standards for energy efficiency, reducing their reliance on fossil fuels over time.
